Naked Ape lands Gaming brief

Commodore Gaming has brought in agency support to promote its newly launched Gaming PCs.

The 1980s computing giant has appointed Naked Ape PR to handle trade and consumer media.

The PCs - which can be ordered painted in various bespoke patterns - were launched at trade show CeBIT 2007 in Hanover earlier this month.

Three other agencies pitched for the pan-European account. Naked Ape is working with Janet Spacey PR in Germany.

Naked Ape MD Jools Moore said the agency was targeting gamers, as well as the general market. ‘People who used to play on Commodore 64 hold the brand very dear, and the new Gaming PCs are bringing it back into gaming,' he said.

The incumbent for Commodore Gaming was tech and entertainment specialist Indoctrimat PR, based in Perthshire, Scotland.
