PR ethics debaters plan Paris rematch

PRWeek's recent ethics debate: 'PR has a duty to tell the truth', is still provoking much discussion among bloggers the world over.

Indeed, the interest is such that professor Trevor Morris at the University of Westminster, who chaired the debate, has been invited to re-enact the evening across the channel.

Diary hears that 'Round two' will take place at the University of Sorbonne, Paris, on 15 June, with an audience of MBA students and faculty members.

Max Clifford will not be in attendance, but PR lecturer Simon Goldsworthy, who helped Clifford to argue against the motion that PR has a duty to tell the truth, will be there.

However, Goldsworthy has made a remarkable about-turn and will now argue for the motion. Morris is full of praise for his colleague's versatility.

He tells us: 'Simon is demonstrating the true academic ability of being able to look at an argument from both sides - perhaps a worthwhile ability in PR, too.'
