Goulding joins at the end of the month as a board director, charged with growing the agency's business.
She leaves the destination-marketing agency after three years as head of corporate communications (PRWeek, 8 May 2004).
‘MDA came to me because we have worked together previously. Many of their clients are members of the initiative,' she said.
Newcastle Gateshead - which promotes the region to leisure and business visitors - is now on the hunt for Goulding's replacement. She previously reported to CEO Andrew Dickson, overseeing a team of four.
‘Newcastle and Gateshead are riding high at the moment in terms of profile so the challenge is to continue to build their profile nationally and internationally,' Goulding said.
At MDA, Goulding's role has been newly created. Once in the post, she will report to managing director Mary Dryden. Clients include real-estate investment trust Land Securities Group and Tesco.
Goulding was previously head of UK PR at FTSE 100 software company Sage.
