Lilly UK in restructure after Wake resigns

Lilly UK comms manager Dominic Wake, a well-known figure in pharmaceutical PR, has left the company - and apparently quit the pharma sector altogether.

Wake, who has worked at Lilly for just under three years, is now - according to PRWeek sources - working in a marketing capacity for a recruitment company run by a friend. PRWeek was unable to reach Wake for comment.

Lilly has reacted by promoting comms adviser Nick Francis to comms manager. Francis joined in 2004 from The Red Consultancy (PRWeek, 5 Nov 2004).

Also at Lilly, corporate comms manager Patricia Barnfather has moved to a pan-European comms role, while comms adviser Jo Greenfield switched to a medical rep job a couple of months ago, it has emerged.

Francis said Lilly would soon be able to announce the appointment of two new comms advisers.

SEPARATELY... Lilly UK corporate affairs director Erin Huntington has gone on maternity leave for three to four months.

Business and government relations manager John Ricketts is to fill her shoes on an interim basis, working closely with Francis.
