Four dissolves health division after MD exit

Four Communications has scaled back its ambitions in the pharma sector, with its health division no longer functioning as a separate depĀartment, it has emerged.

The move follows the exits last year of Four Healthcare MD Joanna Wilson (née Marchant) and senior consultant Allona McCloy.

Four chief executive Nan Williams said: ‘We are still doing a bit of healthcare work, and will work for health clients if we get them, but it’s not a separate department.’

Williams added: ‘We have opted not to replace Joanna directly and, in the future, will probably prefer to handle healthcare work in partnership with other companies.’

Wilson was recruited two years ago to launch Four into the pharma sector (PRWeek, 4 March 2005). McCloy is a former Weber Shandwick staffer.

Williams said most of Four’s health clients – for example, Pfizer/Eisai, ConvaTec and AstraZeneca – were project contracts that had ended.

Wilson, a former CEO of Avenue HKM , told PRWeek: ‘I left for personal reasons, it was all amicable.’
