The six-month England Rocks drive will urge tourists to visit places with links to iconic musicians.
Central to the campaign is a map that pinpoints the birthplaces and ‘favourite hang-outs’ of legendary rock stars, as well as the locations that inspired their music.
The map can be found at enjoyengland.com/rocks.
Included on the map is Ely Cathedral, pictured on the cover of Pink Floyd’s 1994 album The Division Bell – it had 90,230 visitors in 2005. Hatfield House, where Adam and the Ants filmed their Stand and Deliver video (with 100,000 visits in 2005) is also included.
