Lambeth PRO wins free pampering

A tale from Lambeth Council's press office was enough to melt Diary's heart and win our competition (PRWeek, 19 January) for a free pampering courtesy of health and beauty treatment service Return To Glory.

You will recall we asked readers to nominate a colleague for a free facial (etc) - and give us an entertaining reason.

Claire McGill, Lambeth's soon-to-depart (see p7) deputy head of comms, wrote in: '(My boss) Bill Walshe deserves this because in a very short space of time (in his job) he's had to convince comms staff that he can lead the team, deal with serious events in the borough, and develop and deliver an innovative campaigns and comms strategy. And he's also given up smoking during this whole process!'

Hats off, then, to Bill - and well done Claire, who brazenly ignored Return To Glory's plea for no submissions on behalf of men.
