Horsley said the consultancy – named What Next? – was aimed at agency founders looking to take their firm to the next level.
‘What Next? has been set up to support chief executives and agency heads looking to realise the goals they had when they started their business,’ Horsley told PRWeek.
He added: ‘We have six products that cover talent training, branding and financial development, and can offer advice whether or not people plan to sell their business.’
The consultancy’s team includes former Chime Communications group financial controller Mark Seabright, and Peter Finch, former strategic director of ad group FCB. Horsley is managing partner at What Next?.
The firm has also signed a partnership deal with former Hill & Knowlton deputy CEO Karen Moyse, who runs her own management and comms training shop.
One of the agencies with which What Next? is already working is B2B technology outfit Johnson King.
MD Mike King said the 15-year-old agency wanted to ‘maintain growth in the maturing tech sector’. He added that the company was looking to exploit Horsley’s experience of the corporate and consumer sectors.
‘[Horsley] has spoken to our clients, our partner agencies, people with whom we have worked, and even some of our ex-clients, to assess how we are perceived in the market,’ said King.
He added: ‘What Next? has helped us develop new services and new ways of packaging our offering. We have made some changes to the way we pitch for new business, and have just won two new accounts.’
Horsley left Nexus last summer (PRWeek, 30 June 2006). What Next? opens officially on 15 March.
