Ellis takes up Help the Hospices role

Help the Hospices has enlisted Jonathan Ellis to oversee its lobbying activity.

He joins from Help the Aged where he was senior policy manager for health and social care.

Ellis started in the newly created role of director of public policy and parliamentary affairs this week.

He reports to CEO David Praill, working alongside Olivia Belle, who was appointed in September as the organisation’s first director of comms (PRWeek, 24 Nov 2006).

Ellis will bid to secure more funding by raising awareness of issues among government and political parties. He will highlight the fact that hospices offer services beyond those offered by the NHS.
