PA chief for Motor Industry group leaves for LSC

The Retail Motor Industry Federation's first head of public affairs has quit after barely six months in the job.

Josephine Perry, a former account manager in Weber Shandwick’s public affairs team, will not be directly replaced.

Perry – who only joined the federation last summer (PRWeek, 7 July 2006) – is now working for the Learning and Skills Council in an interim public affairs post.

She is overseeing the LSC’s lobbying activity while it hunts for a replacement for Hugh Milward. He quit last year to become UK head of PA at McDonald’s (PRWeek, 7 September 2006).

Nicky Brunker, head of marketing and comms at the LSC, said: ‘We are currently looking at the head of public affairs role at the LSC and are looking to recruit into this post internally.

‘If we don’t find someone within the organisation we will then look to recruit from outside. In the meantime, Josephine has taken up the post as an interim measure.’
