Silverjet and agency Talk strike profit-share deal

Low-cost business-class airline Silverjet, which launches today (Thursday), has struck an unusual payment arrangement with its PR agency.

Consumer agency Talk PR will be paid ‘modest’ fees, but also has a profit-share deal with the airline.

‘If Silverjet does well, Talk will do well, too, which shows how much they believe in the brand,’ Silverjet CEO Lawrence Hunt told PRWeek.

The airline is to link London Luton Airport with New York’s Newark Airport. It aims to run a fleet of ten planes within four years.

Talk secured its brief after Hunt held informal talks with seven agencies last year. Freud Communications was hired to provide strategic counsel last summer, but no longer works with the airline.

Talk MD Claudia Crow reports to Hunt and Silverjet comms head Nicole Walsh, who was hired late last year.
