H&K lined up for Gazprom brief

Gazprom is poised to bring in Hill & Knowlton to advise on improving its international reputation.

Russia’s largest company’s UK head of PR Philip Dewhurst – who started at Gazprom earlier this month (PRWeek, 12 Jan) – said his former agency Weber Shandwick was also in the frame for the contract. However, the decision for global support was being made in Russia and H&K appeared in line to win the business.

According to the annual Edelman Trust Barometer 2007 – released this week – Gazprom is ‘least-trusted’ firm among British opinion-leaders. The survey also revealed Russia to be the least-trusted country of origin for a company.
