Maitland wins HSBC pitch

HSBC has brought in Maitland to advise on financial comms.

HSBC is the world's fourth-largest bank yet it has been criticised for its ‘introverted’ nature.

Maitland was won a competitive pitch to secure the UK account.

In response to the perceived lack of media, stakeholder and public engagement group communications director Richard Beck - newly promoted to replace Michael Broadbent who retired last year - has led a six-month comms review.

‘The lack of senior access will be addressed – CEO Mike Geoghegan and group chairman Stephen Green have accepted and bought into the fact that more visibility is required,’ said Beck.
