Whoever lands the newly created role – which its based in Chertsey, Surrey – will report to the company’s EMEA marketing director Sara Buttle and lead a two-strong PR team.
The move comes as the Seattle-based company steps up its comms across Europe, having recently appointed Text 100 on a UK and Ireland brief.
Text 100 won the account – believed to be worth around £100,000 – following a four-way pitch.
F5, which claims to be the global leader in its market, has briefed the agency to run an analyst relations programme and to develop an issues-based campaign around internet security.
‘We are planning a campaign to move the company’s PR on to the next level, taking F5 into national, business and broadcast media, as well as the trade press,’ said Text 100 account director Eleanor Giles.
Giles leads a team that will report to the new European communications director.
F5, originally known as F5 Labs, was founded in 1996 and is named after the highest category tornado. It listed on Nasdaq in 1999.
