Jarman exits De Facto to launch consultancy

De Facto Communications consumer director Paul Jarman has quit less than a couple of months after being installed in the role.

He left the Chime-owned life-sciences specialist last month and plans to launch his own consultancy within the first quarter of 2007. He will not be directly replaced.

Until late October Jarman was MD of Chime’s consu­mer health agency Ozone, whose brand was killed off when the four-strong outfit became part of De Facto (PRWeek, 3 Nov 2006).

Of Ozone’s three other former staff, former chairman Gareth Zundel is now working for Bell Pottinger as a consultant while the others are working for sister Chime agency Good Relations.

The two clients that Ozone took into De Facto – Johnson & Johnson-owned Colbar and L’Oréal-owned Vichy – have also been transferred to Good Relations.

Bell Pottinger chairman Kevin Murray said: ‘We decided Good Relations was more appropriate for them.’

Prior to Ozone’s creation three years ago, Jarman was MD of the former Harvard Health.
