Hit or Miss... DfES unveils 'singing' tsar

A media bereft of Pop Idol/ X-Factor stories seized on the fanfare around the DfES's hire of 'singing ambassador' Howard Goodall (pictured, top left) to promote music education. Goodall's pedigree - he composed themes for The Catherine Tate Show, The Vicar of Dibley and Blackadder - made him more newsworthy than a music academic. DfES press officer Ruma Multani said she was 'really pleased' with both print and broadcast coverage.
