Let's Meet at - Artesian, London

Reviewed by Charlotte Thomas, global comms director, Aquascutum.

Artesian, the deeply glamorous new cocktail bar at the Langham Hotel on Portland Place, is just up the road from our flagship store. The amazing interiors were done by David Collins, who seems to have a magic touch when it comes to creating exquisite interiors - such as Claridge's Bar and the Blue Bar at The Berkeley.

And he's done it again at the Langham. The rather stuffy old bar is now contemporary, rather exotic and I love the purple butterflies on the tables, lilac leather chairs and the luxurious Broderie Anglais curtains. Really beautiful.

I like Artesian because it is open all day - you could have mini muffins for breakfast, and there is an all-day menu with easy things such as salads, tempura, a gorgeous fresh lobster sandwich - or even an antipasto or meze platter for two, perfect to have with drinks. So it's a great place to meet, for business or pleasure. It's luxurious, stylish and laidback - with slick service.

The cocktail list specialises in rum and classic concoctions. There's also wine and non-alcoholic drinks.

Finally, make sure you check out the ice cubes. Apparently, due to some genius technology, Artesian's ice is purer and colder, making the cocktails all the more potent. Ask the barman!
