Yorkshire agency to defy 'Blue Monday'

This coming Monday will - apparently - be the most depressing day of the year. The Christmas glow has worn off, New Year resolutions are likely to already have been broken, and many of us are plain broke.

A mathematical formula has again been devised by a university boffin to reinforce the gloom with science.

So Diary doffs its cap to Yorkshire agency Green Communications, which has decided to brighten up Blue Monday by creating a beach in its offices.

The 'Costa del Wakefield' will have sand, deckchairs and a cocktail bar. Media director Ian Green even says staff will be wearing Hawaiian shirts for the day.

The stunt is in aid of a good cause - part of Green's pro bono work for Samaritans.
