Surguy to depart Results Int'l post

Jim Surguy, the veteran marcoms sector mergers-and-acquisitions adviser, is retiring from M&A consultancy Results International this month.

Surguy, who holds the position of senior partner and has worked at Results International for 11 years, is planning to work ‘as a free agent’ for three days a week. He said he has also been approached by a research firm and a marketing/sourcing company about taking non-executive roles.

PR deals on which Surguy has advised include Attenborough Associates’ purchase of Saffron PR (PRWeek, 28 Nov 2003); Huntsworth’s swoop for EHPR (PRWeek, 25 Oct 2002); and broadcast PR firm Bulletin International’s sale to Cordiant (PRWeek, 11 May 2001).

Surguy joined Results in 1995 after a stint as divisional director and main plc board director at Mosaic Investments. He was formerly MD of below-the-line operations at Interpublic’s McCann.
