Twinings uses GS for speciality tea

Tea brand Twinings has ­signed up Golley Slater on a project basis to promote its ­speciality ranges.

The agency was brought in by the company to help promote Twinings’ product lines such as Earl Grey and Winter Chai.

The brief involves targeting mainstream tea-drinkers who traditionally steer away from ‘specialist’ teas, and encouraging them to con­sider drinking other types of tea in addition to their regular brew.

The campaign includes consumer media relations and sampling.

GS PR director Nick Brown said the contract was won without a pitch and had resulted from an existing relationship between Twinings and GS’s direct marketing division.
