Anna Clarkson joined the charity’s five-strong Edinburgh-based European fundraising and marketing team last month.
She said her brief was to raise awareness of the charity’s ‘identity, work and campaigning in more than 35 countries worldwide’.
‘Mercy Corps is well known in Scotland, but we want to raise our profile in the rest of Europe,’ she added.
Emergency relief work – most recently carried out by the charity in Kenya and Somalia – research and campaigns will be used to promote Mercy Corps to supporters and donors.
Clarkson replaces Mary Stewart, who held the role on a part-time basis for 18 months. Stewart’s departure prompted fundraising director Alison Christie to advertise for a full-time replacement.
