Porter Novelli, August. One Communications and Cohn & Wolfe have been dropped, but Blue Rubicon and 3 Monkeys Communications have made the list for the first time. Incumbents Shine Communications, Eulogy! and Lansons Communications have been reappointed to the roster – worth about £2m per year (PRWeek, 20 April 2006).
The contract spans three years with the option of a one-year extension. All agencies report to Paul Budd, director of external affairs.
The line-up is announced as newspaper reports reveal proposals to axe a substantial number of Post Office branches. Budd told PRWeek: ‘Royal Mail and the Post Office are facing well-publicised challenges that affect communities.’
The group lost a multi-million-pound government contract this week to private company UK Mail, as Whitehall strives for savings.
However, Royal Mail said it plans to launch new Post Office products and to continue to expand its financial services offering.
