Ex-NHS planner in Bell Pottinger role

The Bell Pottinger Group has drafted in a former NHS director of planning as it looks to pull in major public sector health business.

Alasdair Liddell, who has spent the past year working for APCO, joins as health senior counsel in an advisory capacity.

Liddell will advise Bell Pottinger on how to pitch to NHS clients. He will also work on selected accounts.

He said that the ongoing changes in the NHS and rising patients’ expectations of the service they should receive has created opportunities for agencies such as Bell Pottinger.

‘Service redesign, treating patients at home, investment in information security and outsourcing of services will all create opportunities,’ said Liddell.
