Philip Gould takes Freuds position

Labour peer Lord Philip Gould - well known as Tony Blair's polling aide for his three general election triumphs - has joined Freud Communications as non-executive director.

Gould said the agency’s Labour Party connections, and ‘insight’ division attracted him to role, adding: ‘Strategy and research is at the heart of everything they do.’

Gould met Matthew Freud when both worked on Frank Dobson’s ill-fated mayoral campaign in 2000.

ALSO... Freud has been appointed to promote Bird’s Eye brands. The agency takes over from 18-month incumbent Lexis PR.

Unilever sold Bird’s Eye to Permira last year, when Martin Glenn – who worked with Freuds when he was PepsiCo president – was ins­talled as CEO.
