Nelsons names head of new comms team

Natural medicines firm Nelsons has recruited a former NHS senior comms manager to head a new three-strong PR team.

Jo Ritchie has joined the family owned company, whose flagship brand is Rescue Remedy, as head of communication and education.

She was previously senior comms manager at Sutton & Merton Primary Care Trust, which she left in September, and before that worked for Richmond & Twickenham PCT.

Recruitment for Ritchie’s role got under way in the middle of last year. She heads a newly formed three-strong in-house comms team that includes comms and education manager Kirsty McDonald and comms and education co-ordinator Amy Lyddall. Nelsons’ comms was formerly handled by brand managers.

The appointment comes as the Wimbledon-based company – which was known as Nelsonbach until 2005 – gears up for various product launches, which will be promoted by Pegasus PR.

It previously used Cohn & Wolfe and was a long-standing client of GCI Healthcare.
