The statutory review – being led by head of corporate affairs Suzanne Hughes – will see agencies pitching next month. The roster carries a budget of £300,000.
Three-year incumbent Staniforth is thought to be repitching for the brief.
Hughes arrived in March last year after four years as comms manager at Alder Hay Children’s Hospital in Liverpool.
The Environment Agency’s North-West region stretches from the Scottish border to the southern rim of Cheshire.
Priorities include water and air quality, and flood prevention.
The North-West office recently brought in McDonald’s regional corporate affairs manager Kate Hughes (no relation to Suzanne) to the role of comms manager. She reports to Suzanne Hughes.
