ITV to shortlist for broadband brief

ITV's consumer division is planning to bring in its first retained agency to manage the nationwide launch of a broadband portal at the end of March.

The account, which is worth at least £100,000, will be put up for pitch early next month. A shortlist has yet to be drawn up.

The new-look itv.com will offer ‘simulcasts’ of ITV channels, a chance to view the previous month’s programmes online, as well as ‘made-for-broadband’ and user-generated content.

Spending an estimated £20m on the project, ITV is eager to combat criticism that its digital services are inferior to those of rivals such as Channel 4.
