Blue Rubicon, Fishburn Hedges, Four Communications and Octopus Public Relations are to become ‘preferred' agencies for The Carbon Trust, the private company set up by the Government to encourage organisations to cut their carbon emissions.
The appointments are subject to contract and will span the next four years. They have been made after a root-and-branch marcoms review that kicked off five months ago (PRWeek, 14 July).
The Carbon Trust head of PR and corporate comms Marcus Rand said the four agencies ‘have a fantastic opportunity to work with us on the greatest environmental challenge the UK and the world faces in the years ahead.'
The Carbon Trust previously solely used Fishburn Hedges for the previous four years. The agency's work on the business is led by CEO Simon Matthews.
Rand said he had yet to ‘refine the scope of work' that the four agencies on the roster will be asked to pitch for. He said such decisions were likely to be made in the opening weeks of 2007. For now, however, FH's work remains ongoing.
