Mallaband takes Athena assoc director job

Athena Medical PR has appointed Philippa Mallaband to the role of associate director.

She joined this week from Chandler Chicco Agency, where she worked for three-and-a-half years.

Mallaband replaces Anna Gray who quit Athena this summer to join Burson-Marsteller (PRWeek, 11 Aug). She becomes the third-most senior individual at the Chiswick-based agency behind MD Cherry Wood and director Beverley Evans. She will advise clients including Servier and Boehringer Ingelheim.

Athena handles UK comms for Servier's pre-launch anti-depressant Valdoxan, currently going through phase-III trials, and B-I's Parkinson's and Restless-Legs Syndrome drug Mirapexin (also a UK account).

At CCA, Mallaband worked for clients including UCB Pharma and Schering Health Care.

Prior to CCA, she was as a freelance, before which she worked at Resolute Communications, Santé Communications, Manning Selvage & Lee, B-M, and the former Shire Hall Communications.
