Sukhi Jagapl has already started in the role, having joined from a similar role at Birmingham-based South Asian arts development group Sampad.
Jagapl's remit covers profile-raising, media relations and stakeholder engagement. She will also take charge of events and act as a point of contact for Teachers' TV's two-year incumbent agency Media Strategy.
Teachers' TV is keen to increase its standing with TV production companies and ramp up regional comms.
She joins an 11-strong marcoms team headed by marketing and communications director Anna Pedroza.
Coelho left the not-for-profit channel in September after six months.
