Adventis plans to buy City agency

Marcoms group Adventis is in acquisition talks with an unnamed City PR agency.

Should the deal go through, Adventis would come close to becoming a top-ten player in City PR.

PRWeek understands the group is also engaged in discussions with another unnamed PR agency in financial services, healthcare or property.

Adventis would part-fund any deal by using funds from investor Oceanwood, which - it was announced last week - is to give Adventis up to £1m to add to its war-chest.

‘Something could happen early next year,' confirmed Adventis chief executive Charles Philpot. ‘We've got £3m in the bank with which to make acquisitions, and PR is our primary target.'
