In the PRWeek/Aziz Corporation poll, 76 per cent of PROs either agreed or strongly agreed that back-to-back entertaining had a negative effect on their work. More than half (53 per cent) said socialising negatively affected their home lives.
Their lack of cheer was criticised by Aziz chairman Khalid Aziz: ‘PR is only one step removed from hospitality. Christmas is a good time to cement relationships.'
Of the 200 PROs questioned, a quarter expected to down at least a bottle of wine at each event.
