Roche lures CCA's Evans for int'l comms role

BASEL: Swiss pharma firm Roche has appointed Clare Evans to the role of international comms manager.

Evans will start work this month at the firm's offices in Basel, Switzerland, and will focus on handling comms for Bonviva - the osteoporosis drug that the company promotes alongside GlaxoSmithKline. She joins from Chandler Chicco Agency in London.

She replaces Libby Day, who returned to Australia - where she continues to work for Roche - earlier this year.

Day moved to Basel in 2004 from Australia, where she formerly ran her own pharma comms outfit ICU Communications (PRWeek, 20 Aug 2004).

CCA said it had recruited eight new staff in London in the past three months, taking its headcount in London to 48 (plus ten at sister agency BioSector 2).

Appointments include Max Brady and Jon Ruddick, who join CCA's medical education arm, Litmus, having previously worked at Medicus International. Neil Beasley has rejoined CCA, having completed an MBA. Kelly Teasdale has joined from Weber Shandwick Brussels.
