VMA to host talk on 'ageism in PR'

Recruitment company VMA Group is to host an evening seminar on age-discrimination to help PR bosses avoid breaking new laws.

Freda Line, head of employer relations at the Employers' Forum on Age, will aim to clarify the new laws - introduced on 1 October - which forbid any references to a required age bracket in job ads (PRWeek, 8 September).

The seminar, which is free to attend, will be held at The Law Society in London on Tuesday 28 November.

The Department for Trade and Industry has just brought in Amazon PR to make ageism in the workplace as ‘unacceptable as sexism or racism'.
