Solicitors to get image makeover

The Law Society has brought in a PR agency in a bid to turn around the reputation of solicitors and show consumers their value in day-to-day life.

Peppercom Europe will also promote the body's recent restructure - it shed its regulatory remit earlier this year, establishing an independent board that will be launched as the Solicitors' Regulation Authority during 2007.

‘We want to challenge the widely held view that we continue to regulate the profession; we also want to promote the value of solicitors,' said a spokeswoman.

Peppercom will also support lobbying against proposed legal aid reforms.
