Scott Milburn has spent the past year as the Bush administration's mouthpiece on budget issues, aiming to boost congressional and public support for the president's fiscal policies.
His job title has been White House Office of Management and Budget press secretary. He will join APCO's Washington office next week.
In addition to helping to co-ordinate the release of Bush's 2007 budget this February, Milburn has also advised on comms around Hurricane Katrina and the War on Terror.
Prior to the White House, Milburn was comms director for Ohio senator George Voinovich.
‘My work at the White House, in Congress, and at state level has provided a valuable education in how public policy, politics and the media shape public opinion.
I look forward to branching out into the private sector and sharing that experience with APCO's clients,' said Milburn.
