Balloons for ribbon day

Sandwell Organisation Against Domestic Abuse released 100 white balloons in West Bromwich last week to raise awareness of International White Ribbon Day (25 Nov).

The campaign urges men to wear a white ribbon as a symbol of their stance against domestic violence.

The balloons - which carry the organisation's helpline number - represented the number of women who have died as a result of domestic violence in the UK this year.

It is also being promoted on beer mats and posters, and in local press.
