The agency's brief is to build brand awareness for both Borders and Books etc stores, and promote in-shop celebrity signings. Borders' previous agency was Consolidated Communications, which handled a summer project (PRWeek, 21 July).
The retailer had earlier abandoned plans for awarding a £100,000, 12-month retained account.
In September, Borders hired Alex Hippisley-Cox as head of corporate PR to replace Andrea Marks, who left after ten years.
