Parkinson's body brings in Connect

The Parkinson's Disease ­Society has chosen Connect Public Affairs as it bids to step up its profile among the policy community.

Connect will provide the society with strategic advice and parliamentary monitoring services.

The move follows the ­charity's September launch of the first TV ad campaign in its 37 years. It aimed to show how everyday chores can be daunting for Parkinson's sufferers.

A spokeswoman confir­med Connect had been hired but stressed contracts are yet to be signed.
