Bumper pay-day for Goldman exec

LONDON/NEW YORk: Goldman Sachs last week promoted its global head of corporate comms to partner status - instantly making him one of the world's highest-paid comms professionals.

Former Brunswick staffer Lucas van Praag was one of two dozen London-based Goldman Sachs employees who benefited from a windfall after the bank recorded record profits of around £4.7bn.

Van Praag's pay packet will top £1.5m as he works between London and the firm's head office in New York.

From 1992 to 1999, van Praag was a partner at Brunswick in London, having started his career as a banker with Bankers Trust Company in New York.
