Long-awaited operating system Vista will succeed Windows XP. Its consumer launch was originally scheduled for the second half of 2006, but is now expected to take place in January.
Waggener Edstrom remains Microsoft's agency of record and pitched against Edelman for the consumer contract.
Wag Ed's Frank Shaw, president of its Microsoft account worldwide, said: ‘The appointment of another agency is to help with the consumer launch of the products Windows Vista and Office 2007, and supplements the great work that is already going on.'
Shaw added: ‘We look forward to working with Edelman to achieve the best results possible for Microsoft with the launch of this product.'
