Text 100 jumps on 'green' bandwagon via division

LONDON/SAN FRANCISCO: Text 100 is looking to capitalise on the vogue for all things green via the launch of a 'clean technology' practice.

The new division will be led from the agency's San Francisco office by senior account director Jodi Olson.

London-based sales and marketing director EMEA Peter Jacob is working for the division on this side of the Atlantic.

‘Clean technology' is applicable to a range of areas from energy-efficient computers to renewable power, and is increasingly attracting the attention of global businesses.

‘We've been tracking this sector for the past year,' Jacob said. ‘Clean technology is expected to grow into a £60bn market over the next eight years.

‘In the second quarter of this year, clean technology surged ahead in venture-capital investment and now sits third behind biotech and software.'

Jacob revealed that major Text clients including IBM and Philips were discussing clean-tech initiatives with the agency.
