Text 100 jumps on 'green' bandwagon via division

LONDON/SAN FRANCISCO: Text 100 is looking to capitalise on the vogue for all things green via the launch of a 'clean tech­nology' practice.

The new division will be led from the agency's San Francisco office by senior account director Jodi Olson. 

London-based sales and marketing director EMEA Peter Jacob is working for the division on this side of the Atlantic.

‘Clean technology' is applic­able to a range of areas from energy-­efficient computers to renew­able power, and is increasingly attracting the attention of global businesses.

‘We've been tracking this sector for the past year,' Jacob said. ‘Clean technology is expected to grow into a £60bn market over the next eight years.

‘In the second quarter of this year, clean technology surged ahead in venture-capital investment and now sits third behind biotech and software.'

Jacob revealed that major Text clients including IBM and Philips were discussing clean-tech initiatives with the agency.
