The campaign is aiming to encourage Irish and British people to buy Christmas presents for those who live
in the 30 poorest countries in the world. Suitable gifts range from chickens and goats to emergency aid.
PR activity will take place in November and December and will span the UK and the Republic of Ireland.
Celebrity chef Paul Rankin will launch the campaign next month, taking part in radio and print interviews.
Rankin will also take part in a podcast that can be downloaded from campaign website concernwithlove.org. Biss Lancaster will aim to get coverage for ‘With Love...' gifts in relevant feature pages in the run-up to Christmas.
The initiative is similar to Oxfam's Unwrapped, which launched in 2004 and is this year being promoted by Shine Communications (PRWeek, 14 July).
The overall aim of Concern - which was founded in 1968 - is to enable people to achieve major sustainable improvements in their lifestyles. Biss Lancaster won the work via its sister agency EHS Brann, which has designed the gift catalogue and website. Account director Emma-Jo Jones leads the agency's work on the brief.
