Robb is to exit next month as director of public policy at the National Council for Voluntary Organisations after five years in the role and eight years at the NCVO.
His new brief is to co-ordinate programmes across government to benefit the voluntary sector.
Robb said: ‘It is a really exciting time in the third sector and I hope that the office can become a driving force for implementing policy at all levels of government.'
