Street cleaners are using bright green bins for recyclable litter and orange bins for general waste. The frames of the barrows are yellow.
‘With any service there is a perception issue - if people don't see it happening then they presume it isn't happening.
With these new barrows, no one can claim they haven't seen a street cleaner in Slough,' said a spokesman.
The unusual move comes following council research in which residents flagged up the environment as an issue of high importance.
