The firm - which markets Vagifem, a prescription treatment for vaginal atrophy - is to launch a campaign via Spink Consumer Relations, targeting over-50s.
The condition occurs where vaginal tissue becomes thin, dry and tender due to the withdrawal of oestrogen. Sex is thus painful.
Campaigning under the slogan ‘Wake up to sex at 50', Spink is handling media relations. Tactics such as online, direct mail and advertorials are also being considered. Spink is also staging an evening forum to be attended by nurses, in Guildford, Surrey, next month, and plans to hold similar events in other towns. It hopes up to 100 women will attend the Guildford event.
Separately, Spink has recently been retained to promote Healthspan's vitamins and minerals. The appointment follows a healthcare-professional focused project for Brain Boosters.
In the past few months, nine-strong Spink has hired senior account manager Craig Haslop (ex-freelance and Hill & Knowlton); account manager Louisa Canavan (ex-Media Foundry); account executive Nikki Button (formerly at Virgin Holidays); and account executive Rebecca Weeks (formerly at Halpern).
