Blackburn Rovers in fans campaign

Blackburn Rovers FC has enlisted Manchester-based consumer agency Brazen PR to help boost attendances at its games.

The club ‘wants to generate more positive stories ­nationally, as it tends to be overshadowed by biggerclubs in the North-West,' said Brazen account director Rick Gutteridge.

Brazen's first task will be to ­encourage turnout for the club's Premiership local derby against Bolton Wanderers on 22 ­October.

John Williams, chairman of Rovers - one of the worst-supported sides in the top-flight - last month called for league-wide action to help increase ­match-day attendances.

He reportedly said: ‘The "Chelsea factor" is playing a big part in making the game too predictable for many supporters.'
