A transatlantic survey carried out by Edelman research subsidiary StrategyOne has found that 23 per cent of UK consumers read blogs at least once a week. Of these, 27 per cent have taken some kind of action after reading a blog.
The US and France paint a similar picture. While only 14 per cent of Belgians read blogs, 43 per cent of those are inclined to take political action.
Signing a petition, attending a meeting and serving as an officer for a club were cited in the UK as the three most common actions.
‘Not only are more people reading blogs, but blogs are acting as "action accelerators" and creating a bridge between the online and real worlds,' said Edelman CEO Richard Edelman.
