AstraZeneca boosts UK comms line-up

AstraZeneca (AZ) has made a brace of appointments, one interim and one permanent, for UK communications.

Jeannine Nolan has joined on a temporary basis as UK comms leader, the job recently vacated by US national David Prager (PRWeek, 22 Sep). Her most recent role was at Red Door Communications.

Suzie Collett, meanwhile, has taken a permanent position as UK brand comms manager for respiratory product Symbicort. Her previous role was at HSD Communications. Nolan expects to be in situ for around three or four months, while a formal recruitment process takes place to find a permanent replacement for Prager.

She left Red Door, where she was business unit director, consumer healthcare, earlier this year after little over three months, it emerges. She said: ‘We all decided this [interim work] is something I am more comfortable doing.'

Nolan's AZ role sees her reprising her preferred pre-Red Door modus operandi: filling senior positions on an interim basis. She spent six years prior to Red Door as a freelancer and, around four years ago, waseffectively in the same seat that she currently fills at AZ, again on an interim basis.

Collett left HSD, where she was associate director (medical), last month. She had joined HSD in March last year, having previously worked at Manning Selvage & Lee, VB Communications and Ogilvy PR Worldwide.

The role Collett fills at AZ has been vacant for more than 12 months and was previously filled by Prager before he was promoted last year.
