Business development director Adrienne Merrill sent an email last Friday - cc-ed to entertainment shop Golden Goose PR - claiming that GGPR failed to lure celebrities to an event.
Golden Goose joint MD Miki Watson responded, citing coverage received, and forwarded the email to showbiz journalists. The tit-for-tat emails spread quickly round agency-land, and to PRWeek, with various colourful comments added.
‘It's not in the spirit of Borkowski,' admitted MD Larry Franks. ‘But it's been great PR for Golden Goose.'
Merrill, who is working on an IT project for Borkowski, has been removed from its website contacts page.
Separately, Borkowski's decade-long hold on the PR account for Cirque Du Soleil - one of its flagship accounts - has come to an end. Band & Brown's experiential marketing outfit Brando is now promoting the show.
Cirque Du Soleil's performers are preparing for the annual Algeria at Royal Albert Hall in January.
